Privacy policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Peshkar is a case management service for advocates and chambers. This page explains what we store, why, who can see it and what you can do.

What we store

  • Chamber: name, district, phone number.
  • Chamber members: name, mobile number, role (head, advocate, clerk, accountant). Passwords are never stored as such — only a hash (scrypt).
  • Clients, cases, hearing dates, outcomes, fee payments and deadlines — whatever the chamber records. For clients this may include name, phone, national ID number, address and notes.
  • A log of reminders sent: to whom, when, which message, and whether it was delivered.

Why

  • Only to help the chamber manage cases, dates and fees, and to send date reminders.
  • We do not sell your or your clients' data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

  • Each chamber's data is visible only to that chamber's members, according to their role. One chamber cannot see another's data.
  • Peshkar team admins can see every chamber's name, members' names and mobile numbers, and totals; when needed they can reset a password or turn a chamber off. Each such action is logged.
  • The Peshkar team may look at the database directly when needed to fix technical problems.

Where it is stored

  • Data is kept in a Supabase PostgreSQL database on servers in the Mumbai (India) region. The website runs on Hostinger's servers.

What goes to other companies

  • When reminders are on, the recipient's mobile number and the message text go to the SMS provider, and to Meta's WhatsApp service when WhatsApp is on — only to deliver the message.
  • We do not share data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.

Cookies

  • Only two cookies are used: one to keep you logged in (30 days) and one to remember your language. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Security

  • Passwords and login tokens are stored hashed; repeated wrong passwords lock login for a while; permissions are checked on the server for every action. Still, no system on the internet is perfectly secure — never share your password.

The chamber's responsibility for client data

  • The chamber is responsible for the client data it keeps in the app. Get a client's consent before turning on messages to them; messages can also be turned off for each client.

Changing and deleting data

  • Chamber members (according to their permissions) can edit or delete clients, cases and dates.
  • To delete a whole chamber and all its data, the head of chamber should contact the Peshkar team.

Changes to this policy

  • Changes will be posted on this page with a new date. Heads of chamber will be told separately about major changes.
